I have worked in the biz for about 6 years now. I have done all the basics from dishdog to cooking on the line and am now interested in making it my career. I was wondering what I am going to have to go through to acheive my goal and what it is going to take to accomplish it. I feel that I am determined to go through with it, so much that I am ready to drop alot of money on a school to see it through. If anyone can offer me any tips or ideas on how to succeed it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
go to a 2 year school and keep working.
after the 2 years transfer to a 4 year school.
work different types of restaurants, Italian, French, hotel, country clubs, etc.
Chefmanny,
Thanks alot. Do you have any recomendations on schools? I have looked at the CIA and J&W, but they all seem expensive for what I can afford. I have found several schools that have programs that teach from the Le Cordon Bleu, but they are only 1 year schools with 2 years of classes. Do you think that is a good idea? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
