Hi,
I'm trying to have a pig roast at my house. Does anyone have any suggestions. I don't want to pay for a caterer, but I don't think I can do the whole thing myself. Are there Pig Roast Consultants out there?

Do yourself and everyone who will be attending a BIG favor and get a professional caterer. If only to do the pig. Don't experiment on your friends or family! If you don't want to pay for a professional, then stick to something that is in your ability. You will be glad you did.

what an idiot!!!!.... doesn't want to pay for a caterer?????

I want it to be great, but I don't want to pay for it... how many times do we hear this???

They go out for lunch to a casual restaurant and pay 10.00 for lunch, no dessert, but want caterers to do it for 6.00, all inclusive..... I told a lady today I could do it for 6.00 if she came and picked it up and took it home and prepared it herself....

JohnMc, are u so economically strapped that you cannot afford a caterer or you simply don't WANT to pay for a caterer (as you said)?????

But you WILL pay for an attorney if you wind up making someone deathly sick.... and we have evidence here now that you were too cheap to do it correctly and were warned..... boy are you scr*wed??

I have a suggestion, hire a professional... spread the wealth, enjoy your day off... life is too short!

Come on folks, the poor guy is just asking for help in doing a pig roast.

Sure it's in the wrong forum and he hasn't had the foresight to read all the anti illegal catering rants, but he does want to do for his OWN guests at his own house.

Give me a break!

BTW lets face it caterers are a LUXURY that 99% of the population can't afford to have do a back yard bar-b-q for them.

Jeez, enough.

George
