Bagel Shop Help

WebFoodPros.com Chef Forums: The Great Hall: Bagel Shop Help
By PJL on Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:43 pm: Edit Post

I am considering starting a new career after 15 years in the IT consulting industry. I've thought that opening a Bagel Store in my town would be a great opportunity.

Unfortunately, I don't know about required equipment, where to buy it, recipes, preparation, etc.

Any help on these items would be appreciated.

Thanks,

PJL

You might want to check out franchise opportunities.

how do you make easy money in franchises, chefmanny?

tell me of 1 McDonald's that is losing $$$ anywhere in the world! or BK for that case!

How many of either one do you see closing down?
A friend of mine owns 8, he is a millionare several times over but, McD's and/or BK won't talk to you unless you have 2Mill. in your hands.

chefmanny, you know I only suggested because the poster seems to have no experience, so he or she will need the direction and control. Bagel franchises are not even in the same world as the big ones. Working a bagel franchise and owning a McDonalds is two different worlds.
Actually if you can find a desolate market you will need 2.5 liquid 10. in arrears. But it is a guarantee payback back to black in 2 years.Trust me I know.

Absolutely Pan, but if I had 10 Mil. I would definitely not dump it into a restaurant.
I think I would buy a yacht w/ about 25 state rooms and have a floating house of ill repute w/ gambling. 3 miles out and even cloning is legal. Cash bar, I could make a killing w/ professional athletes. (Cowboys, Denver, D. Rodman)

Don't accept any checks from Rodman, you know he is a local boy. Think the money is running out, Rodman construction trucks are still running around town though.
Manny, anybody who could guarantee my investment back and in the black in two years will be the way I go. although I would book a couple of months on your boat. Would you provide bait and poles?
3k on pins?? Man!!!! you must have a good thing going.

Please, don't mention pins again, that's my wife's gig! Unf------believeable!...Just my expense!!!
