I said I was submitted for the ads, and then did not get them. They wanted high end celebrities, who people knew. But it's been so slow in the biz, both acting and ad work, that I've got to start sending photo's to Canada and Europe.

They sell fruit on a couple corners here in the hood( LA )stuff brought up from Mexico, but I don't buy it. Don't know if it's been inspected or not, and who wants to eat fruit washed with water from there? YIKES!
The water in this town ain't much better! They send us notices a week after they found that something or another was above EPA standards!
My husband lierally almost died from brushing his teeth with the "wrong" water in Mexico. He was in the seminary, and only the good Sisters' care and prayer saved him. Here, I guess it's up to me!

Spike, the husband was in education, but would now have to go back to school to become fully certified, and that is time and resource that is none existent. The crime is that he went to a tough college that demanded a thesis and more work for a Bachelor's than most do for a Master's,
and I should have gotten him right on furthering his education. But I'm married to a Crusader, who wanted to teach in little parochial schools, who worked at outside jobs parttime to fill in the gaps for the family that the schools couldn't provide. He's goodlooking enough, but I married him for his brains and sensibilities, so I can't complain, (except to God).
Spike, I wish I could come up with a smart answer for your"how long have you been cooking" question, after I said, "all my life". Well, since I was born with a wooden spoon in my hand, longer than you have been alive!
And speaking of the "good guy" in Dallas, what do you hear? I try to remember to keep them in prayer.
He was very helpful to me, trying to talk me into convection ovens. I finally learned to bake in them, but I still prefer conventional. It's that purist streak Mother instilled, I guess.

Tmarta, re: the convection ovens you have to remember that in convection ovens you have to cut the temp. asked for in recipes by 25F and the cooking time is shortened by 1/3rd of the total cooking time. For this reason most people usually overcook things in convection ovens.

I"m not cooking yet, nor do I know if I ever will. =( I am "stuck" in a computer training course for now. And when I'm finished(3months) I don't know what I'll do. I really don't want to fix anyone's computer problems but my own(i have enough). I work p/t at my dad's real-estate office, and go to this school t w t during the week.
I have talked to Art Institute of Dallas's culinary program, but it's so damn expensive(40k). It seems impossible to get finacial aide and actually pay it off afterwards. I'm trying to talk to western culinary in Portland, but they aren't too bright up there..lol they said they'd send me some info, but that was 2 wks ago, and I still haven't recieved anything. Anyways... what about this guy in Dallas I should go talk to?

I had read it before, and had forgotten just how good it is.
If you get a chance to, get a copy and have a look. Even if you don't believe some of the stuff he say's, it's still worth it.
I think it should be required reading for everyone who wants to make fine sauce's.
There's dessert and fruit sauce's for you pastry people too.

That's the movie, her lover is served for dinner by the husband the cook. Later in the movie the staff of the restaurant feels bad for the wife who is devastated and they kill the husband the cook and serve him in one final lavish buffet at the restaurant!!!
