I've wanted to mention this before, that as I started to collect the baking books over the years, I realized that if it had not been for the women that did all the collecting of the recipes and the incorporating of the product they were working for, AND the testing, and the books themselves that food in America could have been something all-again different than what we have/know now. It's amazing the work they put into this area. Women from all walks of life.
I wish I was a better typist, because I would love to give you a short history of these women.
Its very intresting, and should be to anyone who wants a history of Baking and Cooking in America.
Maybe I can write something up and get someone to type it for me. Then just do that paste copy thing. what do ya think George, would that be alright?
