George, this is mostly for you. Do you know how I cann access the list of symbols (like degrees) that I can use by typing alt and the numbers. I use this for my name but have lost my list. I appreciate your help.

Here's a list of all the "ISO 8859-1"characters.

It wount work just using the alt key. On the web you need to format them in html.

Just read the directions for syntax.

BTW I'm not sure they will work here.

Also check the Formating link on the left, it gives you program spacific code.

Thanks, George, I have spent two days looking for that and you saved the day! I am off to play with it & try to make it work in my recipe program.
