when you get that clear fat from roasting bones, does that fat go bad?
and if it does, how long can you keep it in the fridge?
and when its bad, what does it smell like?, or does it turn color?
I keep the fat to put on the dogs dry food, and I forgot how long I've had it for.
Thanks,
Man...you are.....uh....were a baker.......lol....just kiddin man.....yes it goes bad. All fat can go rancid. Also fat molecules pick up fridge funk from mingling odors in the refrigerated air, so keep it tighly wrapped. Sometimes I have seen it get a slime on it..but that may be from residule stock left on it. Rancid smell??....you'll know it when you smell it..believe me.
P.S. (sorry Elwood) forget about the dog and use it to fry up some taters...now thats good eats.
mmmmmmmmm.... fat
You sure you want to give fat to a dog? I remember last time I gave soup bones to a waitress who had a German Shepherd. Bones had been simmered for almost 18 hrs, and defineatly were fresh. Appparantly the dog had a bad case of the "liqui-farts" after gnawing on them and ruined her carpet. I was deemed responsible...
Dude...that totally reminds me of this time at my friends house......oh wait...nun ya want to hear that one....never mind.
I knew a girl that smell rancid once!
You learn after that once!!!!!
