Hey i wonder if anyone can help me on this one.
We all use sheetpans during the course of our work and so have i (for the past 3 yrs)
but i have never seen the problem i am haveing at my new place.
No matter how many times we clean the sheet pans every time we use them (or wipe them) the cloth turns all gray, we wash em and when we dry them it happens every time... anyone heard of this??
contact your chemical distributor and tell him to replace your degreaser with on that does not react with aluminum.
Thanks i will check that
YES!!!!!!WE HAVE THAT PROBLEM AT WORK! It's a pain...something to always be aware of. Your clothes get dirty, your arms look black and it can dis-color items baked with-out paper.
For us there are no answers, it's our water, which smells egg like. I don't know the facts with the health dept. (they check it) but it's not approved for drinking (we use bottled water)...HA (make sense of that). We have filters on the taps where we get water to cook with. We also have some filter with our ice machine too.
So the water used for washing dishes is the yucky stuff. It must be too rich with some kinds of irons because our metals discolor quickly (all but stainless) and you can never completely wipe the surface grey off. It's almost as if the water changes the metals properities.?
Ohh maybe thats the problem... becuse its not the soap we use a plain ol pink potwashing soap..
