My best friend is getting married in late October. A small (read-inexpensive) party of 30-50 people and a whole roasted pig (apple in mouth :)) is the goal. It is supposed to be a medieval theme. I am having a hard time finding any info on the who and how's of it all. T.O. is the location. Any replies appreciated.
Where is T.O.?
Mon cheri, i hav herd that there is no petit cochon in Tallupi Ohio. y dont you do turkey legs you will save monie on the apple.
Sorry, I was just acting like those French guys. If your in Texas try Padera Lake Farm 972 723 9290. The have chick, pigs, goat, cow etc. They might ship.
You can also go to a restaurant that does alot of frying. They usually save the old grease for pig farmers or soap people. They will have the name.
Tarquin, if you're in Toronto, I'd think it would be easy to get a roasted suckling pig from the many Chinese BBQ restaurants (albeit you may have to put the apple in afterwards). Lu
Go to www.bbqsearch.com and put a posting on this forum. This forum is full of bbq experts who can give you all the information you need to do it yourself, or may be able to provide you with a hog smoking expert in your area. In the meantime, you can also check out the bbq faq: http://www.bbq.com/faq/10-3.html#10.1.5
Here's another good site for whole hog cooking:
