I am trying to locate a caterer to do a small and informal party in my home. Most of the advertisers in local print and magazines seem more corporate or event-oriented. Is there a website of listings or should I just scan the yellow pages??? I'm confused...Thanks

Well, it would help just a tad if we knew where in this world you are located. Generally the yellow pages will have every legal caterer listed. Check under "Personal Chefs Services" Not sure what they would be listed under in the yellow pages.... Some of the caterers may be able to point you in the right direction.

Best of luck... If you coincidentally are in West Tennessee, I can help you.

Check out www.directcatering.com and also www.800wecater.com and like Carl said the yellow pages is always a good one too.

Do a search on your favorite search engine for your city name (or the major city in your area) and "in-home catering".

Use localized search directories like:
http://local.Yahoo.com/
http://local.com
http://insiderpages.com
http://freeyellow.com

Best of luck in finding the right caterer for your event!

Does "small and informal" mean inexpensive in your vocabulary????
If so, you will have a hard time finding anybody, professionals have a detection system for language that gives them a sign of what they are in for.....for example "this crowd doesn't eat much"...means, cheap.......there are others but unfortunately I have to go lay some sand bags down now so my house does not float away to Conneticut or somewhere up that way...TTFN
