Hi

I've recently decided to give up my office job and dedicate myself to training as a chef, starting right at the beginning as a Trainee Commis.

It's slightly daunting as at 29 I'm older than those that I'm competing with for the good jobs, and I have a family to support. I'm determined to make it though and while I'm searching for the right starting point I'm doing work experience in the best kitchens I can find.

I'm keeping track of my progress in a blog, if anyone is interested its at

http://cookingforreal.blogspot.com

I invite you to read it, and would welcome any guidance.

John

Bravo! I did the same thing, enrolling at culinary school at the ripe old age of 32. You're going to love it.

Too bad you're not in Los Angeles, I'd put you to work! :-)

Heck, your still a kid.

I started school at 35.

BTW if you're looking for guidance start reading the Wanna be forum here and move to all of em.

Good luck,

G
