Hi I'm looking from some feedback on anyone who is attending or attended this school. This is the second school I've looked at and like it very much . I've also checked out Chicago Cooking Academy which is very inexpensive. Also at CHIC I have to take a entrance exam which is math and english. I really rusty on math and thats the only thing thats holding me back. has anyone done this and if so can you give some insight

Have you started the application process? I applied from Virginia & was accepted. I haven't taken any tests or anything. Have you taken any college, because if you have, you won't have to take the test. Actually, I think they are kinda expensive-though I was told it's going to go even higher in October or January. They just did some sort of administration changes, like a buy out or something. It is cheaper than Kendall though. I'm not going to attend though due to the cost involved-I might attend the community ed classes.
I don't know if that helps, but I know that the admission person I dealt with was VERY helpful, and if nothing else they seem to stand by their grads. I was invited to a conference this weekend in my chosen course of study, though I still live in VA so I can't go. That did impress me though.

When you are thinking about where to attend school will you consider the schools reputation? Do you think that where you go to school does or does not have any value worth paying more for a more "bigger name" institution?
As a professional working in Chicagoland I am not familar with the Chicago Cooking Academy(not that I know of every school there is). Where as I have met and worked with graduates from and heard a good deal about Kendalls' program. It has name recognition in IL..
How do they stand by their grads and can they prove that to be a tangible benifit to you? For instance I am aware that Kendall maintains contact with it's former graduates (I know people who closely maintain contact with each other LONG after graduation from Kendall). Many of which have progressed on to become head chefs through-out Chicagoland (meaning they do have job contacts).
Just food for thought...
