Has anyone used nueskies (spelling) bacon before? My owner wants me to use it but looking at past billings the stuff was costing about $800 a month. Is it worth it?

How much per pound on that bacon? I have never used that particular brand, but good smoked products are a pleasure to serve. Seems to me that above @ 3.00 per pound, and it starts to get prohibitively expensive. There are excellent small-maker pork products available for that price.
Around here there is a packing plant that buys and kills local small-farm raised hogs and make their own ham, sausage, and bacon. Their products are great, and don't cost that much more than the national brands. I like supporting a local business, too.

We started out with hormel applewood smoked, which people loved, it got expensive and we tried 3 or 4 other varieties, but nothing came close, and we were really only saving a few pennies per serving. Plus, it took all the fun out of snitching a piece of bacon with my first cup of coffee in the morning! We went back to the Hormel.
