God bless u.

breadbuff,
The most talented baker that I ever workrd with got his degree at C.I.A. He was also quite the pastry chef. If you want to go to France look into Le Cordon Bleu. In the meantime read Professional baking. Good luck!!

chris, i would like to ask you some questions if you don't mind. are you a baker too ? what's the typical day of a baker's life like? do bakers bake at night up to morning?

I did some baking but I don't on the same scale anymore. The day started at 1:30 a.m. and then I would prep for lunches when the baking was done. The baker that I employ now summed it up best(my reason for not baking anymore)His words were "Chris, Bakers are the chemists of the culinary world, you should stick to the plumbing" If you are interested in this field try to find a job in a small bakery or even the baking dept of a large supermarket. You'll definetly learn some things and most importantly if this is the field you want to be in. Good luck.
Good luck with your future,

thank you so much for the advice ! indeed, i've been longing to work in a bakery. but right now i'll stick to my studies first. hopefully i'll find a job in a local bakery which can enrich me with much baking skills. i gained my baking know-hows from reading lots of books on the subject. over the time, i've improved a lot (i praise God for that). i wonder if anyone would want to employ someone like me.but i'll try anyway!:)hey, anyway, good luck for your career too!
