Good Afternoon,
I'm hoping that somewhere here can help me. There is a bakery in town that serves a wonderful chocolate cake with strawberries in the middle (not all fresh, sort of a jam?) with whipped cream frosting (sort of a stiff cream). My dilemma, I was going to order this cake for my daughters birthday party this Friday. But she got very upset when she found out that I wasn't going to make it. She INSISTS that I make it and that I have the ability to make it. Ahhh, the stress of a 12 year old staring at me as I bake in the kitchen! LOL
My question is would someone please, please, share a recipe with me for the whipped frosting and strawberry filling. Please, I don't want to use cool whip, YUCK! But do want to make my daughter happy. Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions :-)

First for the filling....you spread strawberry preserves then layer sliced fresh strawberries on top.
To make whipped cream: 1 quart heavy cream, 2/3 c. sugar and 2 tsp. vanilla. Put those onto a bowl and whip until stiff. Then spread it on your cake.
Good luck, I'm sure you can do this!

thank you, W. DeBord, thank you so very much! :-)
That doesn't sound difficult at all.
