I'm reading this book from the 30's and the writer mentions, " Winkles off a Pin ", eating these while drinking in a Bar-Parlor, in Liverpool, England. Anyone know what these are ?
Thanks.

Winkles are a small mollusc, they look like a small black snail. And as memory serves taste the way they look. They are readily available in my local supermarket, here in Guelph, Ontario.
Hope that answers your question.

Mr. Green,
Thank you, with such an uncommon name, I just had to ask about them.
