Where has everybody gone to?

WebFoodPros.com: The Great Hall: Where has everybody gone to?

At the risk of repeating myself, where is everybody? Has every culinary question been asked and answered? Has the novelty of a chef's chat room worn off? This is such a great site. Besides, I miss reading the posts of the regulars.
I know you guys are not here to entertain me, but I truly enjoyed reading of other peoples' questions, solutions, and general good cheer. I'm probably just as guilty of lurking as a lot of you other lurkers, but it's time to get involved. Busy season is coming up for a lot of us and the idea of raising a pint or two sometimes seems more enjoyable....oh, sorry, just spilled some. Anyway, please don't let this wonderful opportunity pass you by.

Sad to say I have been lurking a lot, too. I'll get off my duff and respond if I have a contribution.

Lurking Chefs.
Geez, whats next?
Nice, polite Chefs that know how to cook?

HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaH........
(Proper responce for the statement).
Ok, really, where has everyone gone.
Well, not to long ago there were some people who
tried to make this board a political soapbox.
And then there were some who didn't let them.
Things got out of hand, things were said that maybe should not have been.
Result, this web site lost some people that were daily, weekly contributors. It lost some other people cause the topic had nothing to do about food.
It got ugly.
But everyone that comes here can have a part in turning it around.( Not that it needs to be ) Tell people about it. Have the people you teach, come here with their questions.
It would certainly teach them how to ask for help.
Since I've been com'in here, I can't think of one thing that has not been discussed, the Chef's and reg. people go out of their way to help anyone. I think it's sad that some have choosen to leave. Because no one in this biz, is going to take care of US like US. This is one of my daily stops, because I've learned much here, and get entertained, and gotten to know some wonderful people, in the biz.
Ok, I'm done....hand me my box, will ya.

Hi Folks,

I think the biggest issue is that you now have to be registered, and use a username and password to post. Eventhough it is easy enough to do, and you can set a cookie to enter it, most folks woun't go to the extra trouble.

Another issue is back arround 9-11 a couple of prolific regulars started posting a series of way off topic and innappropriate messages under different usernames. I deleted the postings and they got their underwear in a knot and left.

Even with the decrease in new postings that actual user stats are strong. Lots of folks reading and lurking.

Many thanks to those that are posting, especially Corey, Spike and Gian for their active participation.

Peachcreek- good to hear your still here also!

All the Best,

George
