this has already been discussed, BUT....
The miracle blade 3 infomercial seems to have a good deal. By that I mean the warranty they provide. Lifetime, and 30day money back.
So, my question is... Are the knives worth it? Forget about "chefTony", all I'm worried about is the blade on those knives. Has anyone heard anything about them?
I saw spike on the infomercial seperating ribs w/ a chisel! lmao

Remember the Ginsu Knife, They did an infomercial with the Chef of L'Orangerie, one time rated as the top french restaurant in Los Angeles. This guy raved about the knife, how sharp it was and he demonstrated slicing cold smoked salmon for the Camera.
A month or two after I see this on late night TV, I find myself in between chef gigs. I have to work to pay the rent so in my quest for the highest paying cook job I applied at L'Orangerie and score a position on the line. After a couple shifts the guys, warm up a bit. I mention the Infomercial, and the pantry chef, a Spaniard, starts raving about the knife and how good it is. He brings out "THE KNIFE" the very one from the infomercial and he starts cutting paper thin slices of cold smoked salmon.
This was the "Ginsu Knives" with laser cut blades or some such hype. The same warranty, the same cut through a pack of frozen peas, cut metal cans in half. The same never needs sharpening blade.
After all this, my not so humble opinion is:
THEY ARE CRAP WITH A HANDLE.
The culinary instructors at the LA City College use to suggest buying Ginsu Knives because they were so cheap when they got stolen it didn't matter, you could just go out to the local Pic and Save and get another set for $5.00.

When I'm not cooking I actually feed my family as a writer. When I was a feature writer for a paper in Connecticut many years back I made a bit of a reputation for myself by writing offbeat stories playing off of pop culture (for a piece about what is the oldest thing in famous people's refrigerators, Dave Barry told me, "One of Reagan's first-term polyps").
Anyway, I got my paper to buy me a set of Ginsus. In front of the cameras I cut through cans, sawed through wood -- everything they did on the commercial -- and sliced tomatoes "like a hot knife through butter." News flash: It's 'cause the blades are serrated. There was nothing to them, and it was nearly impossible to cut straight with them. The knives were mine to keep, and I never used them again. Eventually sold them at a garage sale for $5.

So, my question answered I guess. But why would they offer a lifetime replacement on them, if they suck so bad? Cause people don't know what a good blade is? Stupid people! *;)
Spike, my holidays were ok. My first x-mas away from family(was w/ girlfriend and hers), but also the first x-mas that I didn't really celebrate(long story). Then came New Year's... Had a flat tire in a restuarant parking lot... put the spare on and it was flat too. Ended up having no car on New Year's day b/c everything is closed. Then I had to buy a new tire ($180). So, other than that, everything was great...lol

They can afford a life time guarantee because it would cost more to send them back and get them replaced than they're worth.
