I'm thinking about signing up for a course at Greystone and was wondering if any of you could give me some input. I'm especially curious if the course is worth the money-$895 for a week-and how the on campus housing is compared to local motels. Any other information that could be useful to someone unfamiliar with the Napa Valley would be appreciated. Thanks and happy new year!

It depends? What are you going to get out of the course? A skill, a job promotion, is your money reimbursed by the co. you work for, or is it just a hobby kind of a thing???? Who's teaching the class? Can you afford to spend that kind of money on one class? You can probably take 3-4 classes at a local school with good staff if you look hard enough for that kind of money!
Anyway, the campus is beautiful, in wine country and the classes and courses are geared more towards the food/wine connection

Thanks chef Manny. I have no idea what I'll get out of the course. I was hoping someone here might have taken a continuing education course there and give me some feedback. The course I'm looking at is titled "The Best American Menus". I am hoping that the course is geared for kitchen professionals and not weekend warriors. My employer is offering to pay all my expenses. It was actually our G.M.'s idea. I have no idea who the instructor will be. I live in Boise, ID and there is no local school that is worth spending money on.

That school is exclusively continuing education. Most of their classes have good reviews from alumni, though overly expensive. The Napa Valley is expensive to visit, but you can find B&B's in the area that would be more reasonable. The town of Napa also has some lower priced motels (for the area), and would probably be your best bet if $$$$ is a concern.
