I am a student instructor for Johnson & Wales--I need to have a lesson plan by Thursday 7/20/00. If anyone has ideas, PLEASE contact me with suggestions.

Am I missing something here?
Don't take this the wrong way, but aren't your students basically PAYING YOU to develop and teach a lesson plan that has been standardized and approved by the school faculty and administration?
Or, are you a student aid to an instructor, who didn't do their homework for the chef? Or, are you teaching weekend courses for home chefs?
You really need to work with the people at your school. In all honesty, if some student instructor/aid had walked into one of my classes at the CIA and tried to run a class without having his or her act together, we would have eaten them alive.
The expectations of your students are probably quite high, based on their tuition and J&W's reputation. Best you get it together, fast.

giving you a suggested lesson plan would be like calling the chef at the restaurant next door and saying "hey what should i run for a special tonight?" Use your own experience in and out of the class room to develop your plan. obviously you wouldn't be a student instructor if some one didn't think you were capable of doing it. so stop trying to take short cuts and do some work on your own. everything can't be given to you on a silver platter

Besides all that has already been said to criticize your attempt to take the easy way out, how would we know what your class is ready to be taught? Hopefully, the instructor and yourself know where your class is in the scheme of the curriculum and what needs to be taught next or to be reinforced by an other lesson.
The purpose of being an assistant is to learn how to teach. Unfortunately you have not been instructed properly. I have seen it before many times. Being a teacher is more than just standing in the front of the room or kitchen and yelling commands to the class. Someday perhaps you will know what the real deal is. But the only way to gain that is by you learning first, on your own not by having others give you what you ask for here!
