Ok I'm going to have a moan, got to complain about the food on airlines, plus I have to admit I'm currently stuck at an airport.
So what is it with Airline food? I just flew halfway around the world, with the Aussie Airline who has employed one of the top restuarant chefs in Australia to create their meals and you would think that they would be good, yeah right as if. I have never seen such plain looking, and even worst tasting food in my life, however I will give them points for the seasoning in the food, I could tell they used salt. Honestly I think a first year apprentice chef would do far better if they had created their meals. I know that food can be good on some of the airlines but sometimes it misses that mark really really badly. All I think people want on a plane is something decent to eat, nothing fancy, well that's what I want.

Ah, a pet peeve! Actually at least you got a meal. On my last long haul flight (now defunct Canadian airlines, Vancouver/Narita) we got a sealed in plastic sandwich, sealed in plastic cookies, a bunch of grapes and a really terrible Nanaimo bar. Nothing until an hour before Narita when we got a packaged stryofoam cup of instant noodles and the stewardess came around with a jug of hot water...
Seriously, most airlines are cutting everything they can and food is the first one to go. On most flights under 4 hours all you'll get is peanuts over here...

That's the problem!!!!!...restaurant Chefs can't do airline food, I know, I had to learn. It is a whole new set of dilemas, problems, from size, rethermalizing, food quality, holding...etc!!!!!!
THe point is, you will never get good airline food, their ovens suck, they do not rethermalize properly and that's why most airlines have eliminated food from their business plan. Now they have outside vendors doing it on the planes!
Airline food is an oxymoron by the way!!!!!!!
