So I take the girl out to dinner.
A place here in Los Angeles that I've been to before and thought it was pretty good food.
Free Parking too !
I won't say the name but it rhymes with Daily Brill.
So we get our food, we order the same thing, cept she gets a different veg.
I get snowpeas.
Mine was a little different than what i remember, a little more crust on the outside of the meatloaf.
Hers is better. Total check with tip, 49.00 bucks.
we eat, we leave, we go home.
3 hours later, I'm losing it with the speed of a track spinter.
The next day I call the chef, he says as far as he knows no one else has called, they served about 12 orders of the meatloaf. I told him that the girl was not sick, and I don't think it was the snowpeas, but I'm still tasting grease, enough to lube the front end of my classic 79' Olds.
At noon the same day, it hits the girl.
Now I figure I want my money back, I'm not paying this place to get me sick.
She calls and they take her name and number and tell her CORP. will call her.
So,...I should get my money back, right???

Yeah, they should give you your money back or at least give you a comped meal(if you ever go back)They should pay for any meds or medical attention too. I know where you're coming from, and I would want my money back too, but in the end, I just let it go and chalked it up to the whatever catagory in my brain.

You should cal the health dept. and let them deal with it!
If they had any sense of decency they would ask you back for a comp meal (like you would go back!), on the other hand if you accept anything from a place that you had something happen to you at, basically you forfeit your right for any further compensation (suing), because you accepted a cocktail or a free dinner and you accepted that as restitution!
So, when you swallow a piece of glass at a bar, don't accept a free cocktail!

I'm with Manny. You called the place up, gave them all the pertinent information, and they refused to accept that they had a problem. Health Dept. will investigate, especially when two people call with the same complaint, same food, same place. You've had your grief, now let the Chef have his.

Well, I didn't want to give the Chef grief, I want to believe that whoever is/was in charge of the kitchen that night screwed up, or maybe they don't know food safey, and maybe the Chef was unaware of this.
See, I want to believe that a Chef working in a place like that wants everything very good, tight, clean.
And I can't sue for that, not here in Cal.(I don't think)and I wouldn't anyhow.
I'd make a big sign and picket the place, make them lose money that way.
I just can't understand how someone would/could let that out of the kichen, old as* grease, or a dirty pan.
I kinda feel sorry for the Chef. He's going to get the blunt of it.
I called today and told him it was not him, he seemed nice and we both understood that CORP will let this fall on his shoulders, which I told him I understood that all too well.
Anyhow, I told him that I want my money back, then it will be done.

So today, I'm driving by this rest and outside in front there are people (employee's?) standing behind this big sign that reads.."shame on the daily grill, unfair to labor".
and I'm thinking, so thats what happend, some pis*ed off employee's not doing their job and I get sick.
It made me feel bad for the Chef.
But I'm over it 'cause they are going to give me back my money and they want to have us in for a dinner on them.
which I don't think I'll take them up on it.
So it worked out.
