I think it's great and what a wonderful example for every young women in our field.
From what I've read, this women has worked her butt off.
God Bless Her.

...do you hear that?...do you hear that sound?...thats the sound of glass ceilings breaking...

"From what I've read, this woman has worked her butt off.

Enough with the sexist comments already Spike; hey you think she's a republican?????
Look out, Hillary is next in the White House!!!!!
She'll put back the men in charge in the kitchen!!!!!

When Hillary takes over the White House....I head for Canada....oops....they're pretty socialist...wait......let me re-think this one.......look up "non-socialist governments".

By Chefspike (Chefspike) on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 - 12:57 am: Edit

Manny, Manny, Manny.....
I was not being sexist.
Whats wrong with you ?
Hillary whats-her-name will NEVER again be in the White House.
Never. Ever. Ever.
Even the dumb dem-o-crats know that she will never win.
Why can't you people find someone in your frigg'in party thats not a total piece of crap.
All your so called top people are all a bunch of losers, they all have the same loser gripe, and they whine like a bunch of kids.
loser whining kids.
And that head whiner, the killer of women, Kennedy. What a load.
Drunk whining load. He needs to vacation in Dallas more. Hat trick baby ! Hat trick.
And Poo-lousey, ya think someone would have told her that when you get a face lift, not to get one where they pull your eye lids up over your forehead. It helps when you want to close your eyes, which I don't think she can.
She always has that "deer in the headlights" look.
I could go on and on and on........
Come on Manny, come over to the right side, the light side, the good and moral side. Come Luke.
I'll save you a seat.

Hey smile, God is NOT a Republican!!!!

By Snuffaluff (Snuffaluff) on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 - 11:38 am: Edit

You got that right Manny, God isn't a republican but he sure as heck ain't no dem either. I don't think either party can live up to or even come close to representing what God wants for this country.

I'm glad to see the women in charge of the white house(not hillary). Not only the first women exec. chef, but minority as well. She worked her tail off as the assistant for 10yrs. She deserves the position.

By Chefmanny (Chefmanny) on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 - 05:17 pm: Edit

How do you know he's not a Republican?????
I was just guessing!
Actually the religious right tries to impose supposedly God like values on everyone, from beign anti abortion and fighting for the right to life....that is until you are born, then they don't want to hear from you, they don't want to give you health care, no welfare, no tax breaks....etc (I stole that from George Carlin)

By Andapanda (Andapanda) on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 - 08:15 pm: Edit

Snuffaluff,
Check out The Constitution Party. In some states, it is also known as The U.S. Taxpayers Party because both parties had merged a few years ago.

Paul-ticks, paul-ticks, paul-ticks! Nuthin but a a load of excrement. If there's one thing history has shown us, time and time again, never mix paul-ticks and religion, results are pretty nasty...

By Chefgibz0 (Chefgibz0) on Thursday, August 18, 2005 - 10:37 am: Edit

There was once a good line that was mentioned somewhere in history.....what was it.......the right to LIFE, Liberty and the prusuit of Happiness........those are the rights we are given and the government Must protect. It is (in my opinion) that it is not the governments' responsibilty to care for the whole. It is up to you and yours to provide health care......a decent living via EDUCATION (already subsidized by big brother) Karl Marx set up a system where the whole was cared for by the few.......AND IT FAILED!!!!!

By Snuffaluff (Snuffaluff) on Thursday, August 18, 2005 - 12:01 pm: Edit

If the whole can't take care of the whole, surely the few can't either.
When I went to Israel in 2000, we stayed at a Kibbutz; a neighborhood that lives together and works together for the great cause. People are assigned different tasks, like washing clothes, gardening, maintenance, etc etc. They live so efficiantly it was amazing. If only we could all just live in peace and harmony like they seemed to.

I really try not to claim one party over another as I like to think I vote for the person that best suits the needs of the nation. The repulican party seems to at least present itself in that catagory for me. I just don't agree w/ 90% of the crap that comes out of the Dem's mouths and actions.

By Chefgibz0 (Chefgibz0) on Thursday, August 18, 2005 - 12:27 pm: Edit

Snuff......when I said the few...I meant the ruling Elite........hmmmmmm.....seems almost a paralel going on in America today.....

By Foodpump (Foodpump) on Thursday, August 18, 2005 - 04:14 pm: Edit

I've only two thoughts on paul-ticks.

The first is that politicians, all of them: Dictators, democrats,Prime ministers, despots, Senators, Kings, Presidents, etc, are con-artists trying to fool all of the people all of the time. Don't blame them, they have to, their political career depends on it. Maybe "fool" is too light of a word, "control" may be better used.
The other thing is, there are only two kinds of politicians: Not socialist or democratic, autocratic or any of that stuff. No. One is a politician gaining power, and the other is a politician controling power. The politician controling his power is generally more ruthless and greedier than the guy trying to build up. Take any passage in history and apply these two observations to it. They fit, irregardless if it's the Roman empire, feudal systems, or modern paul-ticks...

By Chefspike (Chefspike) on Thursday, August 18, 2005 - 09:41 pm: Edit

Hmmmmm......
Very good stuff here.
Snuff, when you say "Live in harmony" you don't mean that -we- here in America should be socialists. Because thats what you described going on in that kibbutz.
I'm NOT doing that. Nor will I EVER participate in that. I work harder than most of the people I know.
Giving it away is one thing, having it taken from you is another.
I have to agree with Foodpump. We just need to limit these thieves on how long they stay in office. No more than 6 years, TOPS. For everyone.
And EVERYTHING should be up for a vote.
No more Presidents letting these people come accross the border, wave after wave.
No more High Judges making laws for the few and their whims.
Then we will have Harmony, and I can still keep what I, WHAT I make.

By Snuffaluff (Snuffaluff) on Friday, August 19, 2005 - 12:37 pm: Edit

well, it would only work if it was "built" that way to begin with. There's no way it would work w/ the amount of people, ie. a whole country. Remember, a kibbutz is merely a small community, maybe 50-100 ppl.

"No more Presidents...." I agree. Shut down the borders and let's see who's really our ally(not many)
"No more High Judges...." We need to stop the people that let them make laws, since that's not their job in the first place. They should be upholding the laws, not making them.

BAck on topic... I still like the choice that was made.

Let it be like back in the day, well today in the Middle East, let the locals handle the situation!

Back to the topic of the new white house chef. Good for her-glad to see her in the job.
Here is an interesting statistic:
67% of all back of the house food service jobs are held by women
Only 7% of executive-level, salaried BOH food service jobs are held by women.
Go figure.

By Kinglear (Kinglear) on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 - 02:07 pm: Edit

By the way---
This is one of the few intelligent appointments made by the Bush administration.
Now, if only those two party-girl daughters would enlist in the army, I might think W. & Laura shared a brain (and maybe a few principles) between them.

Lets not bring them into it.
come on......... sire.
geez whiz......
if he would raise the age of men joining, to lets say, 50.
I would sign up. I'm still a good shot. But I get to pick where I go, and where I go is Iraq.
I go, a young man comes home to his family.
thats the deal.
we don't need no daughters, for what needs to be done, don't care what their last name,
the sex of the soldier does not matter, its letting the soldier do what needs to be done.
BACK TO TOPIC:
I wonder if most of those 67% of jobs are held by minoritys.
getting paid min. wage.

67% of all BOH food service jobs are held by women? Where did this stat come from? In the 31 years I've been in kitchens I have seen less than 10% of BOH jobs in Texas being held by women. Is this a national average or a local average?
As for our government, is it " for the people by the people" Meaning if you don't like them vote them out. Hold them to their promises. Make them earn the privilage to represent us. VOTE...VOTE...VOTE.
As far as the border issue, condemning the hispanic population for walking across an imaginary line in the desert that used to be their land so they can provide a better future for their kids, who among us would not do the same. As far as this American Indian is concerned your all illeagal aliens.

"In September of 1996, President Clinton signed into law, the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996. Buried at approximately page 650 of the new national Defense Bill, also known as Public Law 104-208, Part B, Title IV, the American public was given a national ID card. With no fanfare, no publicity and no scrutiny, the bill easily avoided the watchful eyes of even its most aggressive opponents. National ID Card Is Now Federal Law and Georgia Wants To Help Lead the Way The national ID became law in 1996 and will go in effect October 1, 2000, unless Congress repeals Section 656 (b) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. If the law is not changed, every state must meet certain unfunded federal mandates requiring the use of Social Security numbers, fingerprints, DNA, retina scans, and other "biometric" identifying information on all driver's licenses. Money Withheld for National I.D. Card"

SIGNS OF ENSLAVEMENT,
"One sign of enslavement is the new law calling for a national identification card. In September, 1996, President Clinton signed into law the "Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. Buried within this legislation on page 650 of the New National Defense Bill or "Public Law 104-208, part B, Title IV, was the provision requiring every American to have a "National ID card." (6) Initially, five million dollars is to be given to each state to digitally tattoo every American's fingerprint on their card and encode them with magnetically readable strips. (7) These cards may be in the form of driver's licenses, and section 656 of the new law states that "after October 1, 2000, Federal agencies may only accept as proof of idenity, driver's licenses that conform to the standards developed by the Secretary of the Treasury. (8) The law also states that no one will be able to travel by air without this special card."
