Well I am thinking about embarking on the journey of culinary competition. I am planning on going to a few comps and surveying what goes on........

Do any of you have any advice or know of a fellow Chef in the NC area that could advise or mentor??

Thank you in advance for your time

Hey Chef,

Check with Scott Rowe. I heard he just did a competition with another friend of mine.

Here's a link to a collection of pics on the EOL site that shows the annual competition at the HMRRS show at the Javits in NY.

Javits Competition 2002

From what I saw over and above the obvious the judges look very closely at for cleanliness, efficient use of product and taste, taste, taste.

The ACF site is a good source for events.

Good luck!

Rowe was not in one....the Resort was host to one. But thanx George,

Also taking my practical for CSC I did notice, and did not anticipate how closely the judges look at cleanliness and food handling. I did not fail....but just a simple process of placing preped sole on ice was interesting to me. I will check out you link soon.

If you hear or know of anybody else in the NC area..let me know.

Thanx again.
