I am closing up shop for 2 1/2 weeks to take my family to France. We are going to be in Paris for about a week (with a wedding in the Forêt de Chantilly on the weekend) and then will wend our way through the countryside to Mazamet, near Toulouse to visit friends. My husband wants to go back to Paris through Grenoble, which gives us a nice circle of discovery. Suggestions on sites to visit, places to eat, what I shouldn't miss..Thank you!

I once asked the concierge at the hotel Esmeralda opposite the notre dame where should we eat dinner, he said anywhere, he was right.!
First bistro we walked into was the best I've eaten ever..anywhere.
Its like that all over France, its never a case of "you have to eat at this special place."
The whole country is drenched , from the smallest village to Paris with dedication to food.
Theres nothing like it and everyone should experience it at least once.
The downside is it will ruin you for life.!
Everything else becomes ho hum.
