I have a great recipe that won the Quady Winery cook off a few years back. I'll find it and post it in a day or so.

just for the sake of discussion, couldn't any sweet soup be a dessert soup?
for example.....Pureed' strawberries with enough sugar so when you float an egg there is a surface area the size of a quarter showing. Could this also be a soup?

Baker...Here's that recipe I mentioned before:

Sparkling Electra Soup
From: ELKA in San Francisco

1 bottle Quady Electra Orange Muscat Wine
1 vanilla bean, split
2 Tbls. black peppercorns
zest of 1 lemon
zest of 1 orange
1 stalk of lemon grass, chopped
8 oz. sugar
4 oz. water
Bring all ingredients to a boil. Remove from heat and let set for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Strain & chill.

Orange-Basil Ice
3 cups fresh orange juice
8 oz. simple syrup
5 oz. lemon juice
handful basil leaves, minced
Mix ingredients and freeze in a tray at least 2" high. When completely frozen cut into blocks or shapes and freeze until ready to use. (She cuts them into 4" X 3" rectangles.)

Assembly:
Cut figs, peaches, plums, and other seasonal fruit into sections. Place serveral slices of each in serving bowls. Ladle some of the soup over and place a block of ice on top of the fruit. If you wish serve with sesame tuilles.

This recipe did not win anything from the judges, but the popular uproar from contestants and guests was so great that they decided to award a special Honorable Mention.

Hope this gives you great ideas!
