Hello all!

I would like to start a baking and patissier society in the culinary school I work for. I was wondering if any of you out there would have any ideas about things that you would like to see in a baking and patissier club. For example, field trips, guest chefs, and other professional baking and pastry web sites besides this one. Thanks a lot.

I'd consider wine tasting / pairing with desserts. I'm trying to become more aware of the wines that go well with desserts in a way that while help me use that in my desserts. Field trips are a good idea. I'm trying to raise funds for competions within our club. We're planning on sending some members to the NRA show in Chicago next year.

Thanks! That's something that I'd never thought of. Dessert wines don't seem to be a topic that is touched on a whole lot at SCI. I really want to make it a standard field trip to go to the Pastry Championships in Las Vegas every year. We'll need lots of cash for that! Of course the first thing that comes to mind are bakesales!! But none of the nasty over/underbaked desserts, cookies and cakes that you see at the cheesy church bakesales! (HaHa)
