I am a 20 year old college student about to graduate with an AA general degree. I have been baking for over 3 yrs, and been cooking and baking since i was 10. I love everything there is about pastries and i would love to go to a culinary school, to become certified in pastries. I was wondering which school in florida would be one of the better ones to go to. And if anybody knows of any scholarships out there that i might be able to get that would be really helpful too. Thanks to everone in advace for your help.

Since I don't know myself, all I can recommend is going to the Shaw Guides website. They have great info. http://cookingcareer.shawguides.com/

Also, try the wanabe discussion group here at webfoodpros.

Hopefully others here have better knowledge. I am currently enrolled at L'Academie de Cuisine's program, which is wonderful, so if you're thinking of traveling for your degree...They do have a scholarship that covers half the cost of the program. It's a competition. For info, www.lacademie.com.

Good luck!!
