The The Bakers Dozen: Sugar "bubbles"

Hi Everyone, Would anyone here happen to know anyone in the Philly/NJ area who would be able to create blown sugar "bubbles" for my wedding cake?

You might try the local yellow pages, and just start calling people until you find someone who can do that type of sugar work.

You can also try calling any local culinary schools since many teachers also might do freelance stuff on the side.

Make sure they are experienced and have done this type of work before. Blown sugar and humidity are not the best of friends.

Please help us out here too. What "bubbles" are you looking for? Is this a Martha Stewart thing? Also, let us know how it turns out. We have so many people asking for advice here, then they just vanish.

Thanks so much for the advice. To answer your question, yes this is for the infamouse Martha Stewart cake. :-) I saw some of the previous strings so I know what some think of her & her ideas, but I can't help it. I love the cake! It's *perfect* with my 1920's wedding topper. Anyway, I will take your advice & will let you know what happens. BTW, I do have a backup plan just in case I can't find anyone who does the bubbles. Thanks again!

Just a quick note to thank you again & to let you know that I found someone. I started to make random phone calls & called upon a baker/caterer who set me up with a wonderful pastry chef who will be making my blown sugar bubbles. Thanks so much for the advice!! It is very much appreciated.
