I know most of you aren't Martha fans... ignore this post.

I've been waiting for this issue to arrive at the local book stores just to discover it did and they are all gone, everywhere. Before I call every book store in Chicagoland has anyone looked at it...does it have any great baking ideas or is it mainly craft/costume stuff?

although i'm not much of a martha fan, i admire her business savvy and some of the ideas/recipes included in her magazine, while a bit too precious for my tastes, are good.

the halloween issue is mostly decorating ideas: pumpkin carving, costumes, make-up, etc. i think there were a few recipes, but nothing really eye-cathing. (i think one of the recipes is for "pina ghouladas")

I believe her website includes current and back issues ofher magazines. www.marthastewart.com (of course)

I know i've seen plenty of copies of the halloween issue at the border's by my home (i live in chicago too!) let me know if you'd like me to send you a copy.

Thanks Rubble....I did know I could buy it at her web site, but I didn't want to buy it with the additional cost of shipping if it didn't address baking ideas.

I guess I'll have to look in a less crafty/homemaker suburb then my own area. The sales clerk laughed when I asked for it so I assumed they'd be gone everywhere else too. I forgot I live in marthawanttobe.land

I visited her site after leaving the message for you and found that Martha acolytes are allowed to actually preview the magazine contents prior to purchasing. You have to complete a cost-free registration to do this, so you might give that a try....

Yeah, that's funny.... North Shore and a women working as a pastry chef....not unless I was a former doctor or lawyer who gave it up for a more rewarding profession in a hot kitchen. No, I live Northwest of the city where all the housewives make crafts for extra cash.... in wannabe.land not canaffordtobe.land.
