I am 38 and no longer directly interested in the careers offered by my bachelors (journalism) and graduate (international relations) degrees. I would like to put the journalism degree to use, however, as a food, wine and travel writer. I know I have to just get writing post haste, but I would also like to know if some sort of course or certificate might help. I've looked at the CIAs Foodservice Communications Program and the Apicius school in Florence. Any advice on getting started as a food writer?
