Keith,

its quicker setting than pastillage or gum paste.
You do need molds, order from MORA in Paris.
Place mold on modelling clay to seal base from leakage first.
Warm fondant until it starts to just scald, tiny bubbles forming but Don't boil.
This will force the fondant to crystalize, whilst hot pour into molds.
As it cools it turns white due to crystalization and sets firm but not rock hard, certainly good enough for cake support.
If it needs to hold a heavy tiered cake just insert 1/4in dowel before pouring in the fondant, leave them long and cut to suit.
The molds are steel, split in half and are held together with spring clips.
Makes for a clear selling point,...NO Plastic.!
(however for those who want waterfalls...theres no help.)
