Yes,"kunaffahiah" is a transliterated word, and it is the name of a device used to make kunafeh filo, or shredded pastery. I gather one drips a thin paste onto a hot grill with this device, the kunaffahiah, and sweeps it off before it colors much, resulting in a fine, shredded wheat quality to it.
The pastry can be bought in Greek shops, but I want to make it myself.
Any thoughts on where to find such a utensil?
Any thoughts on how to succeed with the kunaffahiah... attention all kunaffahiah users... just teasing. :)
