Dip a transparent plastic spoon into pasteurized egg whites, sprinkle with colored sugar, and set on waxed paper. When dry, cover sugared area with a piece of plastic wrap, then secure with a twist-tie (metallic ones would look good!) around spoon handle. I've tried to do this without egg whites, but no success to date. As usual, the old way still works best ...
