I made my parents 40th wedding aniversary cake 10 years ago out of shear need. None of the pros I called would deal with what I wanted. I felt what I wanted would be quite simple for someone who had cake decrating experience, but no one would take it on so I did. I am not a artest cake decorator or any thing artistic. My father is diabetic and can have no sugar and I wanted a tiered wedding cake for my parents and as I knew when thet married there was no cake I wanted them to be able to give each other bites of cake. This is what I did I borrowed a wedding cake set that kept the top layer separet made the top from diebetic frosting and cake then proceeded to try making a butter frosting to match the diet frostting. It took awhile to find it , buy several diffrent margarines until it was just right .No one knew the two frostings were not the same and had to explain it several times. My parents espealy my mom were thrilled. I then toped it with a bride and groom the rest of the layers with red velvet roses from my garden in little jar lids of water then trimed it with seashell scrol the only thing I know how to do. Well, now it is thier 50th aniversay got any sugetions? when asked what they wanted Mom cried another cake and dinner.
