: : Where can I purchase chafing pans at a reasonable price? I want some of the round ones also. Do I need the real fancy ones or will the plain ones be okay for weddings? Carl any input from you would be appreciated!!

: hello, i bought mine from restaurant equippers in columbus, oh. they were only $39.00 each, but they do not stack for storage.

You will find many grades of chafing dishes on the market. Depending on the amount of use is wether or not to invest in better grades. When I started out, I too used the style sold by Sam's Club, with the screwed on braces and legs, but found as we got busier and brought them to more and more job sites they lose their strength and start to loosen us and wobble. Plus they are very bulky for packing and take us a lot of storage space. Two years ago we bought the stackable chafers made by Vollrath. The broker told me I can return any chafer that ever breaks and to this date the welds are still in tack. The thickness of the metal is stronger and if you are looking for a little more elegance you can get the brass handles. Through Alliant, these were only about $75.00 if I remember right. Kevin
