: Well, I've just had a nasty experience. I wanted to make bite size tart shell and didn't think it would be too hard, think again! I bought decrative pans 12 shells to a pan, the store told me that they were the right ones to use but I could not get them to come out right. I tried two different dough recipies and neither one worked. Could some one tell me a better way to do this, were the pans wrong or the dough recipe, I resorted to plan B and bought them but next time would like to make them myself, if I could just figure out where I went wrong. Thank You Barbara

what are you planning to serve in the shells? sweet or savory, I do not have the recipes here at home, but will look up both of ours, we use a "shortbread" type crust in mini muffin tinsabout 1 1/2" diameter and use a leaner dough for savories such as mini quiche or custard tarts.........but will definatly email Mon 4/17 the dreaded tax day.......the recipes.........email back if you are looking for a 3" tart shell recipe as these will be a bit different to add stability to the size.. or have you tried phyllo leaves, makes a great little shell or bundle in mini muffin tins..............Sam
