: After reading over you post and formula for figuring cost, please correct me if I am wrong.

: If I have a food item that cost $15.00 to prepare and I want to stay in the 25% Food Cost...I multiply the cost $15.00 Xs 4 and the answer being $60.00 would be the amount I would charge for this item?

: Martin

That is correct....you figure your multiplier by dividing the food cost percentage into 100 (25/100) = 4 and "marking up" by that multiplier will give you a selling price w/ the stated food cost percentage............sam
