What has happened to the concept of the "wedding feast"?

: Throughout history, it has been traditional to have
: a feast, or many feasts that lasts all week up to the
: wedding.

: Do you find that having a wedding feast (something more
: than just a veggie tray, cake, nuts and mints) is on the
: decline in your area?

: In the south, there has never been much attention to having
: a full course meal or heavy hors d's....

: Thought this would make for good conversation here....
: let's talk about it.....

Most of the weddings I have done lately have been passed hors d'oeuvres followed by buffet dinner. Traditional foods, interesting preparations, followed by wedding cake and assortment of pastries. Pretty formal, expensive foods, very Martha Stewart (she's killing me...) Very detail oriented.

I kind of like it. BTW, I'm in Jacksonville FL.
