: I live in northern VA. I am getting married in October-1998. I have received several suggestions from some of the top caterers.
: Prices quoted for 100-120 people -(bar is separate) including linens etc is $7000 to $8000. I know this is an average to high price, but I am not getting very imaginative suggestions. I have asked for "Stations" and I am getting -pasta-tenderloin of beef-turkey etc. The problem is I don't know what to ask for that might be a little diffe

oh my, you poor dear, i wish i could charge that much for those items
i would charge about 3500.00 for that type of menu, you shouldnt have to
tell the caterer how to be creative. if so, you need to find a better cater.
consider a salad station with mescaline greens etc, , carving station with pork tenderloins stuffed with curried fruit, pasta station with baby clams, but look at different
cuisines like a mediterranean station with taboule, hummus, baba ganoush and pita chips.
to be different..... a french stations with crepes....etc... find a great caterer!

good luck....
