: : Sharon,
: : I dont get this whole thing.
: : Maybe cause I'm a good cook and I don't like the idea of
: : someone using my kitchen.

: Do you work at a job all day? Just curious. Many people in today's society work 10 hour-plus days, including the commute to and from plus the time it takes to pick up the kiddos from daycare/preschool.

: : Why don't they just pick up the food?

: Pick it up? From where? The grocery store? Yeah, that is where Home Meal Replacement comes in. Boston Chicken/Market were the first to offer the "I need to eat, but am sick of restaurants. I want to eat home-cooked food in my house" market a way to do just that. The problem is, people get tired of having the same food all the time. And take-out/pick-up food isn't always that healthy, either. Lots of fat, salt, etc.

: : Why not cook for 10 families, buy the food wholesale, and
: : deliver it?

: That would be the best, but unfortunately in order to do that one needs a food service quality kitchen with all of the associated licenses, costs, overhead, etc. Having your own personal chef business has a minimum start up cost, which is a benefit to career changers or people wanting to jump out of the corporate rat race into something self starting with entreprenuer value.

: : Please make me understand why someone would want a person cooking all
: : day in their house only to come home to up scale TV dinners.

: On the afternoon of the Personal Chef cook-in, the client comes home from work to smell something they haven't smelled for a long, long time......home-cooking! A roast! Some soup! And, in some cases, a batch of freshly made cookies. The client sees the benefit in this way: he/she didn't have to go to the grocery store, didn't have to make it and didn't have to clean up. They get all the benefits.

: Something about having a "stranger" in your kitchen: Many people have cleaning services, so they are accustomed to having people in their homes doing service type things. Plus, the pc is only a stranger until the first bite of the first meal. After that, the pc is a good, good friend!

: Don't say "upscale TV dinners" because that is not what they are. The food is what you would cook, presuming you had the time and the desire. I will use my clients recipes if they want me to, because they have their favorites, usually something that their mom's used to make for them or something along those lines.

: : I'm not trying to be obnoxious, REALLY, but I just don't get it.

: I hope I have helped you to understand. Please ask more questions!

: Cheers,

: Sharon

I agree, these are not 'upscale tv dinners'. I try to use the clients own dishes whenever possible. What they can 'pick up' contains either a huge amount of fat or preservatives/fillers or all of these. We are selling not only a home cooked meal but a Time Management tool and a Healthy Living and Lifestyle choice. People want our service to improve the quality of their life, their health, their quality time...it's a valuable service and nothing I have ever cooked resembles salisbury steak.........
