: Hi again everyone, I have another question for those who are already doing personal cheffing; do clients ever ask "what type of certification or licencing (sp?) you have to do this?" Do you have to have a license to be a personal chef? Do you have to be a culinary school graduate? My husband says yes, I disagree. I would feel funny if someone asked me and I don't have a icense. For those who do or don't, do you get or lose customers because of it? Thanks everyone!!

I have had prospective clients ask me about culinary schooling and certification. I am a member of the United States Personal Chef Association and have successfully completed their certification exam which covers all phases of running a pcs (from standard accounting practices to proper food handling). When I tell clients I am a USPCA certified personal chef it seems to give them a comfort level concerning my professionalism within the industry.
