IT in the kitchenPosted by Richard Nielsen on November 25, 1999 at 12:57:16:
I am interested in any views or case studies on the problems and benefits encountered in introducing information technology systems into kitchen operations. I have found that there is a reluntance with some people to use IT in kitchen management activities (primarly due to a lack of computer skills) and a reluctance from management to invest in the hardware. Although most operations use POS systems, many kitchens are still doing costing, inventory control and odering manually. I am also interested in any costing/inventory control software. Thanks for any help with my research.
