Hi Beth,

If you are serious about food styling as a career you should move to NYC for a while and be assisting there. Get yourself a copy of the NYPG (New York Production Guide), where all of the top television stylists are listed under "Food Stylists" and "Home Economists" in the Crew section (you can also list yourself as an assistant). There are also many opportunities for print advertising and magazine editorial work there.
Breaking in can be tough so be persistant!
