Food Styling is a very artistic and creative career. Many food stylist I have met have a background in cooking. I am just beginning and I would first recommend you buy the only book published on the subject,Food Photography & Styling by John F. Carafoli. Read that and begin building your kit of supplies. Talk with photograhers in your area and see if you can work free or assist another food stylist to get going and them starting marketing yourself in this area. I am just beginning and learned this is the only way to start. I find very few classes available
Good luck.
