Hi Gerard-
How come you find it neccessary to trash food stylists and writers. Granted there are plenty of people who take a class, then hang out their shingle as a stylist, but rarely do they get any work. Styling is a very specialized skill and takes a lot of practice, knowledge, networking, long hours, and a strong back to acquire. Just because you can cook, does not mean that you can style. You must be keenly aware of who you are visually marketing to, must also understand the photographer's and art director's lingo as well as know how to get along with vastly different people in an intensely focused atmosphere. Don't degrade people for their vocational choices until you walk a mile in their moccasins, OK?
