While it is always possible, it will slow you down. Instead of a full time school, look at the Culinary Arts programs offered at many of the community colleges around the country. And their is a lot of scholarship and grant money avaiable to those who are willing to put in the time. In addition you should look into the American Culinary Federation's Apprenticeship program. Log on to www.acfchhefs.org and look it up. If you wish to succed and become a Chef, continual education is needed, especially in areas of Sanitation, Human Relations and Nutrition.
