It is a few days before Christmas and all through my house are dirty dishes and housework piled to the sky. I catered for thousands during the last few weeks. I am stressed and tired, but wait!! Off to Ottawa to be with daughter and family for the holidays. Cooking prime rib, seafood and special desserts Christmas Eve. Buffet Brunch Christmas morning. Roast turkey, ducklings and French Tourtiere for Christmas dinner. An open house Boxing Day. But, whose fault is it? Mine for sure. Their expectations, my expectations.
Do you ever ask why this profession? Never! I love the industry. I work hard and play hard. I would, although, love to stay in bed with a good book, a glass of wine, no phone, no clients (for a day). I think this will be my gift to me after the holidays as well as a house cleaning service. You can't be everything to everyone.
So no more crying. Off to make Santa mints, finish wrapping, buy the Pribe Rib and pack. Housework, not this day!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas to You, God Bless, and, safe holidays.
To those I have been in direct contact with, Thank You for all youe advice, help and support this past year. Thank You George for all your hard work to put together the best part of the Internet.
I look forward to the New Year, new comments, new battles, new creations in the kitchen.
Love, Donna
