perhaps the best advice to tell your friend is to really weigh out the pros and cons of the restaurant buisness. I am a chef, and have been doing this crazy career for over 8 years. The cons: LONG hours, not so great pay, working
almost every weekend and most holidays, and frequent "burn out" from the rigerous schedule and physcial type of work. However, the Pros usually negate the cons, which would be: Not having to wear a tie to work, working with other talented chefs, building a strong work ethic, a sence of enormous
fullfillment when your work gets noticed and complimented, having fun while working, listening to all types of music while you work, being creative, and finally watching the customers expression and their total experience from your skill and creativity. Tell your friend good luck, believe me it's a massive choise to make.
