I believe you should try to get a job in a more reputable gourmet restuarant.
You can learn a lot more from the staff here than in a chain restuarant than
in a chain restaurant that has the same menu in every location with little deviation
from that. There is more creativity in a gourmet restaurant, and a higher calibur of
professionals. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with a chain restaurant, but if
the career you're looking for is actually in a gourmet restaurant, then that is where
you should go and work your way from the bottom to the top!
